Privacy Policy
Last Updated: March 19, 2026
Welcome to KeyMe Pass! We deeply value your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect your personal information. Please read it carefully.
Core Commitment: KeyMe Pass is a security-focused password and sensitive information management tool. We do not collect, upload or store the plaintext of your passwords, documents and other content, nor use your data for advertising, cross-app tracking or user profiling. By default, the app stores data only on your device; if you actively enable WebDAV backup/sync, data is transmitted and stored on your chosen WebDAV server in encrypted form, and we cannot read the plaintext.
To improve product functionality, stability and compatibility, we may collect and report minimal product delivery/diagnostic data for statistical analysis; this data does not contain the plaintext of your passwords, documents, etc., and will not be used for advertising tracking or cross-app tracking.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information We Collect
KeyMe Pass collects information in two categories: data stored and used locally (not uploaded by default), and minimal product delivery/diagnostic data (uploaded to our servers when connected to the internet). Additionally, if you actively enable WebDAV backup/sync, only "content you create" (see below) is encrypted and synced to your chosen WebDAV server; no other information is included in the sync.
-
Profile Information (optional):
- Nickname
- Avatar photo
Storage: Stored locally on your device only, not uploaded.
-
Security Verification Information:
- PIN code (stored after encryption/hashing)
- Security questions and answers (stored encrypted)
Storage: Stored locally on your device only, not uploaded.
-
Content You Create:
- Password information (account, password, URL, notes, etc.)
- Document information (type, number, name, etc.)
- Document photos
Storage: Stored locally on your device by default; if you enable WebDAV backup/sync, this content is synced to your chosen WebDAV server (KeyMe Pass official WebDAV service or your own WebDAV service) as encrypted files. We cannot read the plaintext content.
-
App Settings Information:
- Theme settings (light/dark mode)
- App usage preferences
Storage: Stored locally on your device only, not uploaded and not included in WebDAV sync.
-
WebDAV Backup/Sync Configuration (only when you enable this feature):
- WebDAV server address, account and other configuration information you provide (used to connect to your chosen WebDAV service)
- Encrypted data files generated by backup/sync (stored on your chosen WebDAV server)
Note: This configuration is only used to connect to your chosen WebDAV server (e.g., for authentication and file upload/download) and is not uploaded to our analytics servers.
-
Product Delivery/Diagnostic Data (for product analysis and stability
improvement):
- Key in-app interaction events (e.g., unlock, session start/end) and session duration
- App version information
- Device and system basic information (platform, OS version, device brand/model, etc.)
- Language/region and timezone information (for compatibility and statistical analysis)
- Randomly generated device identifiers (UUID generated in-app) for deduplication
- May include internal user numbers (if you have one in-app) for statistical analysis and troubleshooting; these numbers do not include directly identifiable information such as name, phone number, or email address
Storage/Transmission: Uploaded to our servers when connected to the internet for statistical analysis and improvement.
1.2 Information We Do Not Collect
We expressly do not collect the following information:
- Device identifiers (such as IMEI, MAC address, device ID, etc.)
- Location information
- Advertising identifiers
- Any personally identifiable information (unless you actively provide it)
Additional Note: We do not actively collect hardware identifiers such as IMEI or MAC addresses, nor do we obtain or use advertising identifiers (IDFA) for advertising tracking or cross-app tracking. To ensure service security and troubleshooting, our servers may record basic network request logs (such as request time, IP address, error codes, etc.) within necessary scope.
2. How We Use Your Information
2.1 Purpose of Use
We only use your information for the following purposes:
- Providing core app features (password management, document management, etc.)
- Verifying your identity (through PIN code verification)
- Protecting your data security (encrypted storage)
- Improving user experience (based on your settings preferences)
- Product feature analysis and stability improvement (based on minimal product delivery/diagnostic data)
2.2 Data Storage and Sync
Default Mode: KeyMe Pass uses fully local storage by default. All data processing is completed locally on your device, and the app can be used completely offline.
Optional WebDAV Backup/Sync: If you choose to use cross-device sync or backup, we offer the following two options:
- Use KeyMe Pass Official WebDAV Service: Your data is encrypted before leaving your device and then uploaded as a file to our WebDAV servers for backup/sync.
- Use Your Own WebDAV Service: You can backup/sync encrypted data to your own WebDAV server (such as NAS/private cloud, etc.), with the data storage location determined by you.
Important Note: Regardless of which option you choose, WebDAV backup/sync is completely optional. You may choose fully local storage without using any backup/sync feature. Even when using WebDAV backup/sync, data is first encrypted locally before upload; we do not read or analyze your plaintext data content.
Product Delivery/Diagnostic Analysis: When you are connected to the internet, we may upload the minimal product delivery/diagnostic data described in Section 1.1 to our servers for statistical analysis and improvement. This data is not used for advertising tracking or cross-app tracking.
3. Data Storage and Security
3.1 Storage Location
Local Storage: All data is stored locally on your device by default:
- Structured Data (passwords, document information, etc.): Stored in the SQLite database in the app's private directory
- Image Files: Stored in the images folder in the app's private directory
- User Settings: Stored in SharedPreferences in the app's private directory
Sync Storage (Optional): If you enable sync:
- Data is encrypted locally before being transmitted to your chosen WebDAV server
- Credentials used for decryption are under your control and are not uploaded as plaintext
- WebDAV server only stores encrypted data files
- You can choose to use KeyMe Pass official WebDAV service or your own WebDAV service
3.2 Security Measures
We use the following security measures to protect your data:
- PIN Code Protection: PIN code must be verified when the app starts to prevent unauthorized access
- Secure Local Storage: Key verification information is stored in encrypted/hashed form
- Encrypted Transmission and Storage: If using WebDAV backup/sync, data is encrypted locally before transmission and storage
- Minimized Access: We do not read or analyze the plaintext of your passwords, documents, etc.
- File System Isolation: All data is stored in app-private directories, inaccessible to other apps
- OS Security: Leverages security mechanisms provided by the operating system to protect data
3.3 Data Retention
Local Data: Your data will remain on your device until you:
- Actively delete the app
- Delete specific data within the app
- Clear app data
Server Data: When you use KeyMe Pass official WebDAV service, related data may be stored on our servers. We will retain it for the period necessary to provide the service, and will delete or anonymize it within a reasonable period after you submit a deletion/account cancellation request (unless otherwise specified by laws and regulations or required to fulfill statutory obligations).
4. Information Sharing and Disclosure
Our Commitment: We will not share, sell, rent or disclose your personal information to any third party in any way. Your data belongs entirely to you, and we have no right to access or obtain your data.
4.1 Legal Requirements
In the following circumstances, we may need to disclose information:
- Requirements of laws and regulations
- Court orders or government requests
- Protection of our legitimate rights and interests
Note: Since all data is stored locally on your device, we are actually unable to access your data. If law enforcement needs to access your data, they may need to make requests directly to you or your device.
5. Third-Party Services
5.1 No Ads, No Tracking, No Third-Party Analytics
KeyMe Pass does not use third-party advertising SDKs, third-party analytics/statistics SDKs, nor does it perform cross-app tracking.
To improve product functionality and stability, we may use our self-built analytics service to collect minimal product delivery/diagnostic data (see Section 1.1).
KeyMe Pass does not include:
- Advertising services
- Third-party analytics/statistics services
- Tracking codes
- Third-party data collection SDKs
6. Your Rights
You have complete control over your data:
- Right of Access: You can view all your data in the app at any time
- Right of Correction: You can modify your personal information, passwords, documents, etc. at any time
-
Right of Deletion: You can delete any data at any time, including:

- Right to Refuse: You can refuse to provide certain information (such as nickname, avatar), and the app can still be used normally
Account Cancellation and Server Data Deletion: If you use an account system within KeyMe Pass, you can initiate account cancellation within the app. After cancellation is complete, we will delete data related to your account on our servers (including backup/sync encrypted files generated by using KeyMe Pass official WebDAV service), or anonymize it in accordance with legal requirements (unless otherwise specified by laws and regulations or required to fulfill statutory obligations).
Delete WebDAV Backup Data Separately: We provide a function within the app to separately delete WebDAV backup data, making it easy for you to clear backup/sync files without canceling your account. If you use your own WebDAV service, the related backup files are stored on the server you choose and manage, and you can delete or manage them on that server.
7. Children's Privacy
KeyMe Pass is not intended for children under 3 years old. We do not intentionally collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian of a child and find that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete the relevant information as soon as possible.
8. International Data Transfers
Default Situation: If you choose the fully local storage mode, all data is stored locally on your device, and there is no international data transfer.
Sync Feature: If you choose to use the sync feature, encrypted data may be stored on remote servers. Regardless of where data is stored, due to end-to-end encryption and zero-knowledge architecture, we cannot access or decrypt your data. If you choose to manage remote storage yourself, the data storage location is entirely under your control.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated Privacy Policy will be published on the app or our website with an updated "Last Updated" date. For significant changes, we may remind you through in-app notifications. Continuing to use the app means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
